As we all know, isothermal quenching is characterized by small deformation, under the same hardness toughness than the general quenching and tempering high. However, the austempering is only suitable for small alloy steel parts (φ5 ~ 10 mm), for the larger die and carbon tool steel parts, due to the slow cooling of the heart, often can not be used isothermal quenching.
