Objective To investigate the effect of cognitive emotion regulation on the susceptibility to stress-induced insomnia. Methods A total of 345 healthy volunteers with sleep well were enrolled in this study. All received self-compiled questionnaires, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA) and Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD) Insomnia Response Scale Chinese version (FIRST-C), Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (CERQ-C) and other questionnaires. According to the FIRST-C test results, the subjects were divided into FIRST high group (high group) and FIRST low group (low group). Results Compared with the low-grade group, the high-grade group was smaller in age (27.91 ± 8.22 vs 24.82 ± 7.73) and higher in women (34.7% vs 53.4%); the self-censure of CERQ-C was 13.01 ± 3.03 vs 14.31 ± 3.24 (13.86 ± 3.04 vs 14.70 ± 3.21), catastrophic (12.52 ± 3.23 vs 13.62 ± 3.51), and positively reevaluated (13.61 ± 3.41 vs 12.87 ± 2.34), all of which had significant differences Statistical significance (P <0.05 or <0.01). Linear regression analysis showed that sex, self-censure, positive re-evaluation, and catastrophic events were all significantly correlated with FIRST-C scores (t = 3.52, 4.03, -2.21, 4.16, P <0.01 or 0.05). Conclusions The use of negative cognitive emotion adjustment strategy can increase the susceptibility to stress insomnia. Active cognitive emotion adjustment strategy can reduce the susceptibility to stress insomnia.
