黄帝是我国原始社会末期一位伟大的部落首领,是开创中华民族文明的祖先。他为中华民族创造了丰富灿烂的中华文化。我国古史时期的衣食住行、农工矿商、货币、文字、图画、弓箭、音乐、医学、药物、婚姻、丧葬、历数、阴阳五行、伞、镜等的创造发明,均始于黄帝时代,这些都是中华文明的重要标志。正因如此,后世尊称轩辕黄帝为:文明之祖、人文之祖。
