该焊条的研制成功,对大型球罐用CF-62钢的焊接质量起保证作用。研制过程中,采取合理选择和适当处理原材料与粘结剂、提高焊条烘烤温度及保证药皮表面光洁度、添加重稀土元素等,突破了超低氢的难关,得到了熔敷金属扩散氢含量≤1.5ml/100g的超低氢型焊条。在解决熔敷金属韧性方面,采用在Mn—Ni—Mo为基的合金系统中,添加微量Ti—B—Y合金元素,经多次试验亦已突破。在试验的基础上,进行了三批批量生产。就其结果,生产工艺可行,性能稳定,可大量生产。对批量生产的焊条亦进行了全面的力学性能和工艺性能试验和测定。1985年底完成了攻关任务,并同时正式通过部级鉴定。该焊条性能与国外同类产品实物水平相当或接近,达到了与裂纹敏感性低的CF-62钢良好的匹配。
