The third meeting of the Chinese Committee for Global Ocean Flux Research (JGOFS) was held on March 11 and 12 at the Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Qingdao. From the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the State Oceanic Administration, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the State Education Commission and other relevant units of members, experts attended the meeting. Researcher Hu Dunxin, chairman of the committee, chaired the meeting and Qin Yunan, vice chairman of China’s IOC, made a speech at the meeting. The meeting concluded: There have been many remarkable achievements in flux studies in our country and a place internationally. However, we should clearly see that we have in some aspects a certain gap from advanced countries.
