文章采用文献资料法、问卷调查法等研究方法,对江苏省普通高校高水平运动队建设的现状进行了调查分析与研究,研究结果表明:目前江苏省高校高水平运动队以高校依靠自身力量办队为主,生源主要集中于普通高中的应届体育尖子毕业生,运动等级以一、二级为主,项目布局上存在着“热门”普及项目比较集中,“冷门”项目开设较少,缺乏竞争的局面;教练员队伍主要来源于高校体育教师队伍,不少教练员自身过去缺乏从事运动训练、比赛的经历;组织训练高水平运动员(队)的经验不足;指挥比赛经验匮乏,很难适应现代高水平竞技体育发展的需要;运动队内部管理体制通过领队实行“三师”和“三线”直至运动员班委的管理体制,形成了较完整的单块管理网络。
