“IBM还会做PC吗?”这是IBM公司大中华区董事长兼CEO周伟焜常常会面对的诘问。作为1981年IBM公司推出PC时香港的产品经理以及曾经的亚太区PC总经理,我们可以想象出他心中的滋味。而在中国,人们对IBM PC策略的疑问则集中在台式机上,因为IBM的台式机与其笔记本电脑相比低调得有些不像话。 2003年6月18日,这一切似乎有了一个阶段性的答案,周伟焜站在IBM个人电脑事业部“新策略、新标准、新PC”发布会的讲台上,以“现在,PC业仍是一个持续增长的行业”这段IBM公司董事长兼CEO Patmisano在2002年10月所说的话来结束自己的演讲,其后IBM公司个人电脑事业部总经理鞠立则借着其台式机新品牌ThinkCentre的发布抖出了以“投资回报新标准”、“安全新标准”、“服务新理念”为核心的IBM ThinkCentre中国攻略,这一切似乎在说,IBM不但要做PC,而且还要做到最好。
“IBM will do the PC?” This is IBM’s Greater China chairman and CEO Zhou Wei 焜 often face questions. In China, doubts about IBM’s PC strategy are focused on desktops because IBM’s desktops are a little less salient than their laptops. On June 18, 2003, it all seemed to have a phased answer. Zhou Weibing stood on the podium of the conference titled “New Strategy, New Standard, New PC” at IBM’s Personal Computing Division. “Currently, the PC industry is still A growing industry, ”Patmisano, chairman and chief executive of IBM, put an end to his speech in October 2002, after which Ju Li, general manager of personal computer at IBM, used his desktop new brand ThinkCentre Released the IBM ThinkCentre China Raiders focusing on the “new standard of return on investment,” “new security standards,” and “new service concepts.” All this seems to be saying that IBM is not only going to be a PC, but also to achieve the most it is good.
