汉语运用中的歧义现象在各级语言单位中都有不同程度的表现。本文只就单句(或短语)中的歧义现象做些分析整理,试图探讨这些歧义句(或短语)在符合汉语语法规范的组合中,既可表述这样的意思,同时又可作另一种理解,既可以这样分析,也可以做另一种图解——不同的理解、解释还都有道理,都符合汉语规律——的原因,认识消除歧义的途径和方法。为此,我们先要了解一下汉语运用中存在的岐义现象。先看例句:
Ambiguity in the use of Chinese language has manifested itself in varying degrees in language units at all levels. This article only analyzes and clarifies the ambiguities in a single sentence (or phrase). It attempts to explore whether these ambiguous sentences (or phrases) can be expressed in a combination that conforms to Chinese grammatical norms and can be used as another understanding. It is possible to analyze this kind of situation as well as to do another kind of illustration—the reason why different understandings and explanations are justified, all in line with the Chinese laws—and to understand the ways and methods of eliminating ambiguity.
