由中华人民共和国文化部艺术司和中国艺术研究院联合举办的“东方之韵——2003中国水墨”活动,于2003年12月1日在北京拉开帷幕。当日,在中国美术馆同时展出两个姐妹画展,即“再识传统——当代中国画成就展”和“解读当代——当代中国画探索展”。2004年1月1日至2月,在中国画研究院学术报告厅举办了两天的“追求卓越——当代中国论坛”的研讨会。活动开幕当天,三本一函的画册同时发行,其中两本是两个展览的作品装,一本是研讨会的论文集。
The “Oriental Rhyme - 2003 Chinese Ink and Wash” jointly organized by the Arts Department of the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China and the China Academy of Art held in Beijing on December 1, 2003. On the same day, two art exhibitions of sisters were exhibited at the China National Art Museum, namely “Re-understanding of Tradition - Achievements Exhibition of Contemporary Chinese Painting” and “Interpretation of Contemporary - Exploration of Contemporary Chinese Painting”. From January 1 to February 2004, a two-day Seminar on “Excellence in Excellence - Contemporary China Forum” was held in the Academic Hall of Chinese Painting Research Institute. On the opening day of the event, three copies of the booklet were released simultaneously, two of which were works of two exhibitions and one of which was a collection of symposiums.
