Foreword Some parts of our country are facing serious fuel shortages and have developed into a major issue concerning water and soil conservation. Therefore, the use of solar cookers to solve part of the rural fuel is an urgent research topic of great practical value. China has made some progress in developing low-cost practical solar cookers. During the determination of the thermal performance of solar cookers in Xi’an Solar Energy Conference in 1979, both the measurement unit and the research institute of solar cookers proposed that there should be a test method for assessing the thermal efficiency of solar cookers in order to promote the development and promotion of solar cookers. Through the theoretical analysis of the thermal performance of the concentrating solar cooker and the development and use of the solar cooker over the past two years, the thermal efficiency, focal spot performance and effective power of the concentrating solar cooker have all been accumulated in China
