该品种于1989年从台湾引进,经两年3季的多点试种示范,表现产量高、品质好、适应广、抗性强。一般亩产400～450公斤,高者达500公斤以上。居我镇8个粳稻品种(300亩)之首,区试及大田验收,均比当地粳稻亩增100～150公斤,增产率为28～42％,而且出米率在82％以上。1991年秋在翁溪村60亩连晚上验收结果,平均亩产414.5公斤。最高亩产达516公斤。
