To the Editor: Endometriosis is a common gynecologiccondition that affects approximately 10% of females ofreproductive age.[1] It is a chronic inflammatory diseasethat is defined by the presence of endometrial?like tissueoutside the uterine cavity. Endometriosis commonly occursin the peritoneum, ovaries, and rectovaginal septum, butmay also be found in other abdominal or extra?abdominalsites. Clinically, the symptoms of endometriosis includedysmenorrhea, pelvic pain, deep dyspareunia, andparticularly infertility. It is well recognized that pregnancycan relieve endometriosis?related symptoms and may leadto the curation of endometriosis.
