高校艺术教育是在普通高校内,按照一定的社会要求,以艺术为手段,对受教育者的身心施以影响的一种有目的、有计划的活动。艺术教育的目的,除了追求美学目的外,还有道德和精神的目的。接受艺术教育可以陶冶情操,激发积极向上的精神和善良的情感。艺术教育具有开发智力,提高文化修养的作用。高校艺术教育要以全面推进素质教育为目标,更新教育思想和教育观念,大力改革教学内容和教学方法,通过艺术课程和开展丰富多彩的课外文化艺术活动,使学生在学习艺术基础知识和基本技能的同时,培养创新精神和实践能力,提高审美能力和文化素养,开发自身的潜能,促进学生全面和谐发展。切实加强高校艺术教育,是当前全面推进素质教育,促进学生全面发展和健康成长的一项迫切任务。
