The efficacy of simple surgery for middle and advanced gastric cancer is not ideal, because most of the existing serosa invaded, postoperative recurrence rate is high. From 1987 to 1989, we treated a total of 48 patients with distant metastases without advanced metastases. We randomized them to 25 patients who underwent intraperitoneal chemotherapy with DDP and 5-Fu in the early postoperative period. The other 24 patients served as controls.
