There has been a considerable amount of studies on gender difference in conversation since the 1970s. Early studies flesh out an outline of conversational processes ,inspiring new avenues for research and theory. This paper ,organized historically,reviews the main research on the topic,beginning with some of the early work done in the 1970s and then continuing to some reactions to the work later.
