在抗美援朝战争中,辽宁特殊的地理位置决定了它在这场战争中的地位举足轻重,既是抗美援朝战场的大后方,又是全国支前支战的最前线。为保障战地交通和军需供给,1950年11月26日,东北人民政府成立了以抢修道路为主要任务的中国人民志愿公路工程总队(后更名为中国人民志愿军公路工程大队)。辽宁省档案馆馆藏档案史料真实记录了这支队伍为在战场建立一条“钢铁运输线”所经历的战斗生活。
During the War to Resist the Aid America and the DPRK, Liaoning’s special geographical position dominates its pivotal position in this war. It is not only the rear area of the battlefield for resisting U.S.-China and North Korea, but also the forefront of the nation’s supportive war. On November 26, 1950, Northeast People’s Government established the Chinese People’s Volunteer Highway Engineering Corps (later renamed the Chinese People’s Volunteer Army Highway Engineering Brigade) with the main task of repairing roads in order to protect the transportation and military supplies in the field.
