Cadmium is a carcinogenic metal in the atmosphere. In the study of the effect of cadmium on lung immune function, it has not been reported on the ability of cadmium-induced pulmonary macrophages to produce free radicals and kill tumor cells. The authors used Luminol as a chemiluminescent probe, with the human serum opsonization of yeast polysaccharide as phagocytic particles, the chemiluminescence intensity of lung macrophages; with ~ (125) I-UdR post-labeling method of lung macrophage killing human lung adenoma cells As a biological endpoint, we investigated the damage of immune function of cadmium-induced pulmonary macrophages. The experimental results showed that the chemiluminescence intensity of lung macrophages with cadmium significantly decreased. With the increase of cadmium loading, the chemiluminescence intensity decreased accordingly
