Ceruloplasmin has ferric oxidase activity, can transport copper, and plays an important role in maintaining the internal environment of liver copper. Recently, it has been reported that ceruloplasmin is not only a potent lipid auto-oxidation inhibitor but also a disproportionation of peroxide groups and is a scavenger of peroxide anionic groups in serum. The authors recently discovered that ceruloplasmin also neutralizes “toxic hormones” and anti-tumor effects. As early as the end of the 1940s, Nakahara et al. reported that a component isolated from malignant tumor tissues was injected into mice and caused the activity of liver catalase within 24 hours after injection.
