2014年1~10月,在广西木论国家级自然保护区和贵州茂兰国家级自然保护区对越南黄金柏种群资源进行调查,结果发现,2个保护区内越南黄金柏的分布点有7个,种群数量为33株。越南黄金柏的伴生树种分为乔木层、灌木层和草本层等3个层级,伴生乔木树种有细叶楷木、圆果化香、红椎、岩生翠柏等23科29属31种;灌木树种有细叶楷木、广西海桐、小叶蚊母树等12科12属12种;草本植物有小叶兜兰、单叶石仙桃、蔓生莠竹等8科10属10种。
