应湾流公司的邀请,9月3日我来到了位于美国南部大西洋畔的小城萨凡纳,湾流公司就位于这个不足3万人口的古老城市。一下飞机我便被接到了位于萨凡纳机场旁边的湾流公司总部。湾流公司公关部的凯利小姐和售后支援部的科尔先生接待了我。科尔先生向我大致介绍了湾流公司的5种飞机GI～GV,并带我参观了湾流公司生产车间及售后服务中心。 湾流公司的厂区面积并不大,飞机的部装和总装都在同一厂房内,湾流IV和湾流V的总装线并排设置在总装区内。现在湾流公司每月制造4架飞机,1997年的生产量是46架,1999年将达到6O架。据科尔先生介绍,湾流飞机的绝大部分零件是湾流公司自己制造的,就连飞机的内部装饰也是自己制作的。因此你在湾流公司的生产车间内可以看到制造中的各种零部件。
At the invitation of Gulfstream, on September 3, I came to Savannah, a small town on the Atlantic Ocean in the southern United States. The Gulfstream Company is located in this old city with a population of less than 30,000. I took a plane and received the Gulfstream company headquarters located next to the Savannah Airport. Miss Kelly of Gulfstream’s Public Relations Department and Mr. Cole of the After-Sales Support Department received me. Mr. Cole gave me a brief introduction to Gulfstream’s five kinds of aircraft, GI ~ GV, and took me to visit Gulfstream’s production workshop and after-sales service center. The Gulfstream company’s factory area is not large, the aircraft’s sub-assembly and final assembly are in the same building, and Gulfstream IV and Gulfstream V’s assembly lines are placed side by side in the assembly area. Now Gulfstream manufactures 4 aircraft per month. In 1997, it produced 46 aircraft and it will reach 6O in 1999. According to Mr. Cole, most of the parts of the Gulfstream aircraft are manufactured by Gulfstream. Even the interior decoration of the aircraft is made by the company itself. So you can see the various parts in the manufacturing process at Gulfstream’s production plant.
