脸盲症又称为面孔遗忘症。该症状表现一般分为两种:患者看不清别人的脸;患者对别人的脸型失去辨认能力。脸盲症患者并非记忆力差,他们能够记住名字、电话号码,甚至读过的书籍。但他们无法记住别人的长相,甚至镜中自己的模样。在1947年的论文中,德国神经病学家约阿希姆·博达默首创了“prosopagnosia”这个词,这是由希腊文“prosopon”(脸)和agnosia(认不出来或不知道)构成的。这是个重颜值、刷脸的时代,脸盲的苦处你能体会得到吗?
脸盲症是一种一个人不能识别或辨认人脸的情况。

患有脸盲症的人们通常要依赖其他身体特征来识别他人。
People with face blindness often rely on other physical features for recognition.
他们利用人们走路、谈吐的方式,头发的颜色,所穿的衣服等来进行识别。
They use the way someone walks, talks, what colour their hair is, the clothes they wear, etc.
让患有脸盲症的人把其他人分辨出来真的很难。
It’s really hard for people with face blindness to tell others apart.
难过的是,它无法治愈也无法治疗。
Sadly, it’s neither curable nor treatable.
