According to the “Aerospace Journal” on January 29, 1990, the United States will conduct six full-scale developmental flight tests on advanced cruise missiles (ACM) in 1990. Two of them will use McDonnell Douglas’s improved model, and the other four will use General Dynamics’ sample. If the McDonnell Douglas flight test is successful, the company will be approved as the second manufacturer of the AGM-129 missile with stealth technology. McDonnell’s first flight plan will take place in April this year. General Dynamics is the prime contractor, and so far the Air Force has conducted 20 launches of General Dynamics’ ACM, of which 12 have been fully successful.
