自一九六四年以来,缅甸铁路联盟共有139台由法国阿尔斯通公司设计制造的通用 B_0-B_0-B_0轴式米轨电传动内燃机车投入运营。而最后一批12台此种机车,是根据一项修改合同,由缅甸铁路当局合作在仰光的工厂进行最后组装的。最后的这项合同包括10台1200马力 B_0-B_0-B_0轴式和2台1600马力 B_0-B_0-B_0轴式电传动内燃机车,已于一九八三年交付完毕。其中1600马力的两台机车,就柴油机来说,属于发展试验型,这标志着柴油机用于铁路牵引在功率比上有了一非常重要的进展。
Since 1964, a total of 139 units of B-0-B_0-B_0 shaft-type electric-driven diesel locomotives designed and manufactured by the French Alstom company have been put into operation. The last batch of 12 such locomotives was finally assembled by the Burmese railway authorities at a factory in Yangon under a revised contract. The final contract included 10 1200 horsepower B_0-B_0-B_0-axis and two 1600-horsepower B_0-B_0-B_0-axis electric drive diesel locomotives delivered in 1983. Of these, 1,600 horsepower locomotives are development test types for diesel engines. This marks a very important development for the power ratio of diesel engines to railway traction.
