台湾的传统木雕艺术,无论是雕造的内容抑或形式,均传承自明清时期中国大陆的闽粤地区。由于台湾特殊的历史发展以及独特的地域环境,使得台湾的木雕艺术,无论是在内容还是形式上都发生了一定程度的变化。台湾的木雕题材以民间宗教信仰为主,表现形式多为神像木雕,此外形制风格也趋于小型、简洁、流畅,然而台湾的木雕的内容与形式依然保留了中华传统木雕的精髓。 Taiwan’s traditional art of wood carving, whether it is carved content or form, are inherited from the Ming and Qing Dynasties in mainland China’s Fujian and Guangdong. Due to Taiwan’s special historical development and unique geographical environment, Taiwan’s woodcarving art has undergone some changes in content and form. The theme of Taiwan’s wood carving is mainly folk religious beliefs. The forms of expression are mostly carved wood statues. In addition, the form style tends to be small, simple and smooth. However, the contents and forms of wood carving in Taiwan still retain the essence of traditional Chinese wood carving.
