高西沟是陕北米脂县高渠公社的一个生产大队,位于黄河中游黄土丘陵沟壑区第一副区,总土地面积4平方公里。其特点是地形破碎,土质疏松,植被稀少,耕垦指数较高,干旱和水土流失极为严重。治理前,平均亩产仅40—50斤,常年吃返销粮,人民生活非常贫困。1957年冬季开始大搞水土保持以来,采取工程措施与林草措施相结合,治坡与治沟相结合,合理利用土地,农林牧副业生产全面发展,增产、拦泥效益非常显著。到现在,全大队40个山峁,已治理了34个;21条沟已治理了15条,共治理3,910亩,占应治
Gaoxigou is a production unit of Gaoqu commune in Mizhi County, northern Shaanxi Province. It is located in the first sub-district of loess hilly and gully area in the middle reaches of the Yellow River with a total land area of 4 square kilometers. It is characterized by fragmentation of the terrain, loose soil, scarce vegetation, high land reclamation index, and severe drought and soil erosion.
