Objective To understand the anatomical features of the Willis artery ring in the human brain and to provide a reference for skull base surgery and interventional therapy. Methods 45 cases (90 sides) of human brain specimens treated with 10% formaldehyde solution were observed, measured and photographed under light microscope. Results The incidence of “three bifurcation ” was 15.6% (7/45). There were 6 cases (13.3%) in which the diameter of bilateral A1 segment of anterior cerebral artery (ACA) ), One side of the A1 segment absent as in 1 case (2.2%). AcoA mutation rate was 62.2% (28/45), including 17 cases (37.8%) with single branch, 25 cases (55.6%) with double branch and 2 cases (4.4% 2.2%). CONCLUSION One of the reasons for the formation of a “bifurcation” is the complex anatomical variation of AcoA in the Willis arterial ring of the human brain.
