Tolly recently announced the results of a standalone performance test of its GRF multi-gigabit router. These tests show that GRF 1600 with OC-12 media cards can forward data from 16 simultaneous ATMOC-12 modules, each utilizing 100% OC-12 bandwidth. Based on the test results, each of the 16 media interface cards on the GRF 1600 can forward an average of 295,000, 64 bytes of IP packets per second to a single accepted address, providing 4.7 million pps of aggregate throughput. Each of the four media cards on the GRF 400 also showed exactly the same throughput. The test results show that the performance is linearly expanded from one OC-12 module in a fully loaded GRF to up to 16 modules and four in the GRF 400. Tolly also tested the performance of the GRF 1600 when forwarding to different receive addresses in order to truly reflect the dynamics of the actual network
