南通市北郊有一所历史悠久的鍾秀小学。到过这个学校的人都还会记得这儿有一棵蒼老的瓔珞松,据說这树巳活了八百多年了。到过这个学校的人,更不会忘記,在这儿有一位孙輔公老先生,他坚持农村教育有四十一年了。孙老先生远在1927年便来到女师附小分部(即鍾秀小学的前身,当时系單班小学)。到目前,鍾秀乡稍有文化的人几乎都是他的学生,有好多人家祖孙三代都是受过他教育的!有人替他算过,四十一年来,他教的学生近万人。

Those who have been to this school will not forget that here there is an old Sun Fu Gong, who insisted on rural education for 41 years. In 1927, Mr. Sun Lao came to the school with a small sub-division (ie, the predecessor of Chung Hsiu Primary School, then a single-class primary school).
