On 8 fast-growing annual live births of Pseudotsuga menziesii (Mirb) Franco, the stubble was harvested at 5 months and 7 months of age. The minimum number of surviving cuttings per plant was 28 and the maximum was 82, with an average of 45 strains. Pretreatment with growth hormone had no effect on the percentage of final rooting of cuttings, but could effectively accelerate the growth of roots and promote the elongation of new shoots of clonal ramets later. After a growing season, the differences between clones are significant. The viable cuttings were almost as fast as the seedlings grew (4.8 vs. 6.0 mm / week), with most of the cuttings growing obliquely prior to the end of the rooting season, except for some of the cuttings that were initially erect. Experiments show that this is a promising method for rapid propagation of clones and excellent genotypes.
