1993年吐鲁番市洋沙农场二队56户棉农示范推广菜棉套种107亩,经他们精心管理与科学种植,夺得了菜葫芦和套种棉花的双丰收;107亩菜葫芦瓜总产482吨,平均单产4.5吨,总收入26.75万元,平均亩收入2 500元;套种棉花总产皮棉12.84吨,平均单产120公斤,棉花长度为29毫米以上,其中等级为一、二级29长度占70%以上,且在棉花生育过程中没有遭到棉蚜的为害,107亩菜葫芦所套种的棉花收入8.2万元。平均亩收入768元;创下了我区百亩连片农田亩收入3 000元以上的新记录。这种菜棉套种有以下5大优点:1、一地多用既收获了葫芦瓜及早供应市场,又收了棉花,一亩顶两亩地用。2、一膜两用于菜葫芦瓜将收获前20天,在膜的两边点种两行棉花,即一膜两用,可为棉花节约地膜费40元,铺膜人工费40元。
