一场关乎未来的买卖在绝密的状态下紧锣密鼓地进行了几个月,双方的代号分别是“探戈”和“阿尔法”。外界对此毫无觉察。 2000年1月12日,当人们还沉浸在新世纪的欢庆氛围中,世界最大的互联网服务提供商“美国在线”和最大传媒集团时代华纳正式宣布以换股的方式合并!这场惊天大合并在许多人看来,简直就是一场梦境。许多的互联网企业以及传统传媒,在这场合并后,大梦初醒。 与近些年不断传出的传统企业合并风潮不同,来自网上被认为“泡沫”多多的企业,把实实在在的现实媒体帝国整个吞下,显然已经是在考验人们的想象力了。人们未能想到,网络巨无霸会以如此的方式“空降”! 面对网络现实“坚硬的泡沫”,许多传统产业的首脑都在思索自己是否应该及时突围。由是,“应变”成了相关行业在未来赖以生存的根本主题。网络的大肆扩张实质上是在给传统的产业重新洗牌论定。并且,网络演绎的神话已经如此快速地改写人类的生活,并且还将在未来不断冲击每一个现实生存的个体。 无论将来走向何方,事实已经是“指向网络的方向”。
A sale for the future has been going on for a few months under top-secret conditions, with codenamed “Tango” and “Alpha” on both sides. There is no outside world aware of this. On January 12, 2000, when people were still immersed in the joyous atmosphere of the new century, the largest online service provider in the world, AOL and Time Warner, the largest media group, formally announced the merger of share exchange. Consolidation, in the eyes of many, is simply a dream. Many Internet companies, as well as traditional media, awakened after the merger. In contrast with the traditional mergers and acquisitions that have been spreading in recent years, it is clear that people from the Internet that are considered as “bubble-laden” enterprises swallow up the real-life media empire and apparently test the imagination of people. One could not imagine that the Web giant would “airborne” in such a way that in the face of the “hard bubble” of cyber reality, many leaders of traditional industries are wondering whether they should break through in time. The reason is that “contingency” has become the fundamental theme for the related industries to survive in the future. The substantial expansion of the Internet is essentially a reshuffle of the traditional industries. Moreover, the myths of online deduction have rewritten human lives so quickly and will continue to impact on each and every individual in the future. No matter where it goes in the future, the fact is already “pointing to the Internet.”
