花叶鱼腥草(见彩页)是三白草科蕺菜(Houttuynia cordata)的一个变种。多年生宿根草本植物。茎上部直立,有棱,下部伏地,节上生不定根,高20～45厘米;单叶互生,纸质,叶片心形带斑,早春时节叶有红、黄、白等多种颜色,盛夏叶为红褐色;花期5～8月;果期秋季;全株有一种强烈的鱼腥味。三白草科的蕺菜(鱼腥草)多见于我国长江以南的潮湿地、水沟及湖泊的浅水处。花叶鱼腥草与蕺菜的习性完全相同。因此无论国内国外,很多水草养植爱好者,常把它作为水生植物的选材。水栽方法:将盆栽或地栽的花叶鱼腥草轻轻挖
