  Now, many families cultivate their children in two aspects: the one is to stress on their school work and the other is to send them to interest-oriented classes. The former is to earn a bright future and the latter is to develop a professional skill. Therefore, children barely have time to play; even they have, they could only play toys, computers, or watch TV, as living in those high-rise buildings, they have few playmates. Few children could play with a crowd of friends as their parents did years ago. By comparison, it is not difficult to find that the form, connotation, time and places of activities now for the children are relatively monotonous; what’s worse, neither the school education nor the interest cultivation has grasped the core of family education – cultivation of ability: the ability to learn, the ability to express, the ability to communicate, the ability to do sports and the ability to love. Luckily, Pivot for Educating Children: 12 Family Activities Designed for Children provides us a new angel of view in terms of the cultivation for children.
  The book shares with us how Li Yinuo’s parents teach children to be brave, grateful, communicative, confident and sympathetic by inviting children from other families to take part in their family activities as family concert, cooking contest, magic show and writing letter to CEO of Nike to recommend the shoes design. These stories contain the education intelligence of the writer’s parents. Family activities become the pivot for children to grow up happily and facilitate parents’ family education.
  Each chapter of the book is constituted by the family activities that have been successfully held. Introduction of each activity consists of “questions focused”, “parent-child reading” and “parents’ chat room”. “Questions focused” and “parents’ chat room” are written by the parents, sharing lots of original experiences in cultivating children. “Questions focused” focuses on the weaknesses of the current family education, while “parents’ chat room” discussed parental experiences in a warm way. There is no unfathomable educational theory in this book, but practical points of view, activities, thoughts and introspection.
