Psychologists at Washington University recently found that the compositional composition of breakfast is quite specific to children with ADHD. Studies confirm that children with ADHD score less well on tests and behaviors if they are predominantly starches or sucrose. On the contrary, adding protein to breakfast can ease the performance of ADHD. Researchers to 8 to 13-year-old children as the object of study, of which about 40 people are ADHD patients. During the study, the children were divided into two groups. One group of children consumed high-starch foods (plus some potatoes) for breakfast and the other children consumed protein-rich foods (plus eggs) for breakfast. Then, 30 minutes, 2 hours and 4 hours after breakfast, respectively, to identify words or graphics intelligence tests. The results showed that children who eat starchy or sucrose-enriched breakfast tend to score poorly, while children who eat high-protein breakfast tend to score well
