Objective To investigate the significance of detection of myocardial enzymes and immunoglobulin in the diagnosis of hand-foot-mouth disease. Methods A total of 79 children with HFMD who were diagnosed as hand, foot and mouth disease from June 2010 to July 2012 were selected as the observation group, including 43 males and 36 females. Meanwhile, 80 healthy children were selected as the control group, in which male 46 cases, 34 females. The levels of immunoglobulin (Ig) M, IgG, IgA and creatine kinase (CK), creatine kinase CK (CK-MB) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) were measured in the two groups. Results The levels of CK, CK-MB and LDH in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P <0.01). The levels of IgG and IgA in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (all P <0.01). Conclusions Children with HFMD often cause different degrees of myocardial damage. The detection of myocardial enzymes and immunoglobulins may provide a basis for their diagnosis of myocardial injury, and provide an experimental basis for the early diagnosis of HFMD.
