1988年元月下旬,原成都市博物馆考古队组织考古专业人员会同双流县文物管理所的同志,对在双流县籍田镇竹林村六组(小地名:马道子)一丘陵缓坡上发现的一座五代后蜀同坟异葬墓的南室,进行了为期6天的抢救性发掘清理。由于当时多种原因所限未同期清理北室,双流县文管所便长期派员进行现场看护。自1998年抢救发掘以后到这次开展全面发掘十多年里,该墓葬屡次发生盗掘未遂事件,又因近来附近村民迁居等等事态相继出现,埋葬文物安全问题迫在眉睫。为防止文物盗掘隐患和取得对该墓葬的完整资料,2004年4月10日开始,成都文物考古研究所再次联合双流县文物管理
