通过实验研究建立了球径、冷速与至水冷端距离三者之间的关系曲线.把端淬曲线和这种曲线结合起来应用,就能预测出所选钢种制成某一直径钢球的淬硬层深度;反之,也可根据对某一直径钢球的淬硬层深度的要求,选择具有适当淬透性的钢种.
