“意象”是中国古典美学的中心范畴,有着深刻而丰富的内涵,以“意象”的本质和特征以及意象创造规律为主要研究对象的意象说对中国当代油画的理论与实践有着重要启示。“意象”的规定性规定着审美意象创造的原则,这些原则是中国传统美学的重要内容,油画这一舶来媒材需要与这一内容相结合,才能呈现具有本民族特色的艺术面貌。而“道”是这些原则的核心,中国油画必须追寻“道”这一中国诗性文化之源才能提升艺术境界,真正体现本民族独有的艺术精神和审美情趣。
