绝缘材料在电弧作用下耐开裂,耐老化的能力称为耐电弧性。许多绝缘材料在某些特定工作条件下,要求具有良好的耐电弧性。因此,耐电弧性是绝缘材料重要的试验考核指标。一般固体绝缘材料,如塑料制品等有机材料,可以采用GB1411—78“固体电工绝缘材料高压、小电流间歇电弧试验方法”及其所规定的标准试验设备进行耐电弧性试验考核。但对电工用无机绝缘材料,如石棉水泥件、陶瓷、云母玻璃等,由于采用高压小电流耐电弧试验法不能使其表面形成破坏,因此,无法进行耐电弧性试验比较。
