First Monograph on Mineralogy - “On the Nature of Fossils” This book was written by Agrigento, a 16th-century German mining and metallurgy writer and author (1494-1555). The book was published in 1546 as a pioneer in mineralogy and the author was therefore hailed as “the father of mineralogy.” The author thinks in the book: The mineral body or from the same species of particles solidified, or made of different substances. The former is not a mixture, the latter is called a mixture. The former is divided into simple minerals and complex minerals, there are four types of simple minerals, namely soil, solidified juice, stone and metal, and there are many kinds of composite minerals. The book traces in detail about 80 different minerals, of which at least 20 are new. The characteristics of the various minerals listed in the book are still available for preliminary classification.
