China has sent 23,000 health workers to Africa, who have treated 230 million patients over the past 58 years. Nearly 1,000 professionals are still on mission in 45 African countries, working at 98 health centers. China has helped 18 African countries establish 20 centers of different specialties, covering cardiology, intensive care, trauma and endoscopy. China has established twinning cooperation mechanisms with 45 hospitals in 40 African countries.
