A 15-year U.S. study shows that non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen but not aspirin may reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease by taking as little as 2 years. Previous studies have suggested a link between NSAID and the risk of Alzheimer’s disease, but this is the first large-scale, long-term study. The scale of the study allowed to eliminate “the uncertainty that has caused early short-term studies.”
