随着中西文化交流的不断加强,人们对中国文化的对外推介日渐重视,而教育作为一种文化现象,也逐渐受到了西方世界的关注。越来越多的人们开始对中国教育典籍外译活动及研究表现出浓厚的兴趣。而教育典籍中,《庄子》的英译版本却寥寥无几。关于庄子思想的其他方面,如政治、哲学、文艺等都有人进行了或正在进行研究,而关于庄子的教育思想,则很少有人涉及。鉴于此,本文对《庄子》英译的缘起、历程和现状都做了简单的分析,以便大家对《庄子》英译有一个清晰明了的了解,同时指出,《庄子》英译还存在不足,亟需引起翻译界和社会的更大关注。
With the continuous strengthening of the cultural exchange between China and the West, people pay more and more attention to the promotion of Chinese culture. As a cultural phenomenon, education is gradually receiving the attention of the western world. More and more people are beginning to show great interest in the translation of Chinese educational books and research. In educational books, there are only a few English versions of Zhuangzi. Other aspects of Chuang Tzu’s thought, such as politics, philosophy, literature and art, have been studied or are being studied, while there is very little about Zhuang Tzu’s educational thinking. In view of this, this article makes a simple analysis of the origins, history and present situation of the English translation of Zhuangzi in order to provide a clear understanding of the English translation of Zhuangzi. At the same time, it points out that there are still some shortcomings in the English translation of Zhuangzi, It is urgently necessary to arouse greater concern in the translation community and in society.
