麻风一病在我省流行已久,分布区域广,发病率亦高,对于劳动力的保护确是一种急需防治的疾病。解放后,在党的正确领导下,患者不惟得到了正确的对待,亦得到了适当的治疗,在短短的二十年内,据不完全的统计,我省已治愈了一万余人,这就使人民知道麻风不是一个“不治之症”,只要能以得到早期诊断,早期治疗,健康是完全可以保持,劳动力也是可以完全恢复的。麻风的防治工作,在解放后的前一时期,确是进行得很顺利,取得的成绩也很显著。后来,由于种种原因,不惟治疗所需的药物得不 Leprosy has been endemic in our province for a long time.
