十年前的1994年,正值中国当代艺术的转型期,一批艺术家尤其是年轻的艺术家开始利用多媒介手段寻求新的表达方式和表现语言,具有一种来自民间的原始朴素激情和冲动力量。现在回想起这十年以民间的立场与姿态从事艺术实验的中国当代艺术的变化,可谓星星之火已成燎原之势!期间,作为专业媒体之一的《美术文献》起到了不可或缺的作用,30余期的专刊,300余位艺术家的作品介绍,几乎概括评介了这十年中国当代艺术各个门类创作的现象和潮流,功不可没!
