The pineal gland may have anti-tumor growth activity. Removal of the pineal gland stimulates tumor growth, and melatonin, a hormone secreted by the pineal gland, inhibits tumor growth. In order to explain the role of the pineal gland in tumor diseases, the authors observed 63 cases of cancer patients, including 18 cases of breast cancer, 5 cases of lung cancer, 5 cases of gastric cancer, 11 cases of colorectal cancer, 3 cases of lymphosarcoma, 42 cases of solid tumors Patients; 12 cases of Hodgkin’s disease, 5 cases of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, 4 cases of leukemia, and 21 cases of lymphoma or leukemia. Changes in melatonin levels in blood before, after, and after chemotherapy were compared. The results showed that: 52 normal people, melatonin in the blood is 18pg/ml; melatonin in the blood of untreated tumor patients is 111pg/ml.
