PELE采用新颖的作用机理对目标进行毁伤,钢壳体PELE作用机理研究对PELE工程应用具有重要意义。文中首次采用钢合金作为PELE壳体,通过终点效应数值仿真以及该PELE与同口径普通穿甲弹分别对薄钢板的撞击实验,证明了钢壳体PELE撞击薄钢板的作用机理存在撞击镦粗、膨胀侵彻和穿靶爆裂三个关键阶段,弹体在靶后爆裂的破片具有较大的横向飞散速度;该类PELE侵彻薄装甲目标时比同直径常规穿甲弹具有更大的穿孔毁伤和靶后碎片毁伤能力。
