在煤质分析和煤质管理工作中,如何检查化验分析结果的精密度和准确度,确保分析数据的准确可靠,是非常重要的。近几年来,为了加强和完善质量管理工作,各个煤质分析机构和各矿务局化验室经常要参加全国性的质量统一检查。由于受检单位、受检煤样和受检项目的数目多达数万,首先要确定:各受检单位测试的精度是否有显著性差异,即检查“特大”的实验方差是否离群,以及务实验室结果的平均值之间是否有显性差异,然后再逐项检查各单位的测试结果同标准参考值之间的差异大小。如此大量而繁复的工作,如用人工进行数理统计,则数据处理就变得极为复杂,显然不能满足要求。
