1996年,全省经济、社会、科技发展的形势比较好,特别是交通事业发展形势更好。去年,交通建设投入了36亿元,新建、改建公路1853公里,新增公路里程777公里,是我省交通建设历史上发展最快的一年。长平高速公路提前一年建成通车,结束了我省没有高速公路的历史;长吉高速公路建设也已完成工程量的80%,今年9月份将正式通车,这是很不容易的,是超常规的发展。长吉高速公路通车后,长春和吉林两市之间,80多公里仅40分钟的行程。这对今后两市的经济发展包括结构调整和生产力布局,乃至全省的发展都将产生重大影响。另外,去年一年,其他一些公路的整修、建设成绩也是很大的。这些成绩的取得,我看有三条原因:一是班子过硬,厅党组的同志多数身体不好,但能够以身作则,扎在一线,解决困难和矛盾;二是全省
