INTRODUCTION The regeneration quantity and growth rate of Pinus koraiensis young saplings are closely related to the stable development of Pinus koraiensis and determine its succession direction and process. In the vast natural forest area of Xiaoxing’anling, young Korean pine trees grow slowly and have a high mortality rate under the primitive forests, which is in urgent need of solution.
